Are you planning to bring your parents or grandparents to Canada? Then you should know that they can get a “Super Visa.”
A Super Visa is a multi-entry visa that allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to stay in Canada for up to two years at a time, rather than the standard six months. It is valid for 10 years and may be used multiple times until it expires.
To obtain a “Super Visa” for your parent or grandparent you are required to purchase private medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company that:
- Is valid for a minimum of one year;
- Covers health care, hospitalization and repatriation;
- Provides a minimum coverage of $100,000;
- Is valid for each entry to Canada and available for review by a port of entry officer.
